You are invited to attend Living Space: Summit for Solving Homelessness in Timmins, Ontario on September 27 & 28, 2017. This summit is part of an effort to develop a coordinated homelessness service system to meet the unique needs of our northern communities.

The most current enumeration study conducted by Laurentian University: Centre for Research in Social Justice and Policy, titled “Homelessness in Timmins, January 2011 Final Report”, found more than 700 people who are homeless in the City of Timmins. Similar, proportionate levels of homelessness are documented in other northern municipalities. Timmins has a population of over 41,000 people and is located in northeastern Ontario, where harsh winter weather for five to six months of the year with temperatures falling below –30 degrees Celsius is common. Despite these conditions, few resources exist to prevent and respond to homelessness.

Living Space endeavours to coordinate community resources to alleviate, prevent, and eventually end homelessness. Please join us to learn more and find your role in ending homelessness.
